Working from home means that when the weather is clear, as it was today, I can walk a couple of blocks to my local city park and try to make a few contacts on the radio during my lunch break.
In the middle of January it’s nice to get a little sunshine on your face and fresh air in your lungs. Except for an old man doing Tai-Chi and some people playing tennis, the park is mostly unused this time of day.

I set up the Gabil GRA-7350T on the fence rail behind the bleachers at one of the baseball diamonds. I could tune this to an acceptable SWR on 20m, 17m, and 15m without using the built in tuner on the KH1.
There was “S4” man-made noise on 20 meters, but that’s also where I could hear stations today. Fifteen meters (21MHz) is much quieter here, but none of POTA spots were strong enough to work, I tried.

Three contacts in the log was enough to make the outing a success before heading back to work.
